Council is reviewing its policy and invited community feedback from Tuesday 9 April to Tuesday 7 May 2024.

Consultation on this draft Policy has now closed. Thank you to those who provided feedback - we will now be considering feedback and working to finalise a report for consideration at a future Council meeting.

Proposed changes

Key changes proposed in the draft policy include:

  • more shared use of facilities
  • an increase in the minimum rental for community groups
  • lease fee waivers/reductions for groups experiencing financial hardship
  • new community and commercial rental categories for tenants
  • additional information about tenant and Council’s responsibilities for facility maintenance
  • new reporting requirements for tenants.

Current lease terms and conditions will remain in place. The new policy will apply for new leases only.
