Romsey Pedestrian and Cyclist Network Study completion

8 May 2026

Thank you to all those who took the time to provide considered feedback on Council’s grant-funded project to investigate existing pedestrian and cycling routes in Romsey and identify potential improvements for future funding consideration.

Officers are pleased to note that the Romsey Pedestrian and Cyclist Network Study has now been completed, after Council received 98 responses to the survey. We appreciate the strong engagement this project received and the feedback from the community in identifying the top five projects for future development and potential funding.

The top identified projects based on the community feedback and a multi-criteria assessment framework that evaluated safety, connectivity, feasibility, strategic alignment, and community support are as follows:

  1. Wombat Crossing on White Avenue (near No. 10)
  2. Wombat Crossing on Barry Street (west of William Street)
  3. Wombat Crossing on Barry Street (near No. 53)
  4. Wombat Crossing on Barry Street (east of Pohlman Street)
  5. Shared Path on Station Street (between Barry Street and White Avenue)

Your input is greatly valued and continues to help shape safer, more accessible spaces in Romsey. If you have any further questions on this project please contact the Engineering Services team at engineeringservices@mrsc.vic.gov.au
